The evolution of a band is a glorious thing to behold and such is definitely the case with Head for the Hills. Like a painter starting with acrylics and graduating to oils, they are exponentially deeper and richer in their 15th year as a band. Dorm room jam sessions have turned into a decade plus on the road. They’ve gone from humble coffee shops to theaters, festivals, roadhouses and clubs all across the country. No matter what type of venue they play, resplendent bluegrass is the common denominator. The purity and emotional weight of their vocals on heart-rendering original material is more than enough to soothe the most savage beast. Their eclecticism has hit an all high on their latest EP – Say Your Mind.

The band has made audiences swoon at many of the country’s most notable festivals including Telluride Bluegrass Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, South by Southwest, FloydFest, RockyGrass, DelFest, Summer Camp Music Festival, Blue Ox Music Music Festival, Northwest String Summit, Strawberry Musical Festival and more. The band charted on the CMJ Top 200 twice, has been featured on NPR Ideastream and eTown and was awarded Best Bluegrass in Colorado four times via Denver’s Westword Magazine. It’s been many years since they last played the Crazy Horse and to say that we are thrilled to have them back is a major understatement!
